| I spent 3 hours yesterday at my temp job taking bar code stickers off of 4 by 6 inch american flags so that they could be handed out to masses of firework attenders tonight. what could be more patriotic than removing the reminder of a consumer based society for masses of people going to an outdoor upscale mall to celebrate our nation's founding?
oh the irony.

| It seems like people got kind of stuck on certain aspects of the
section of our human rights book on trade-offs. Can giving up certain
human rights lead to greater development for a state? After a troubling
phone call from a friend, I'm wondering if the tolerance of otherwise
unacceptable state behavior in hopes of a beneficial long term outcome
is similar to how we deal with things interpersonally. I knew a guy in
college several years ago who tried to OD on Tylenol. After he
recovered, he started smoking cigarettes. I knew some people that
freaked out about his new bad habit, but in my mind an addiction to
cigarettes is a far better trade-off to taking one's own life. You know
the worse fate this person is saving himself from with this behavior,
but the behavior can cause long lasting damage. As a Christian, what do
you do in this situation? What behavior do you tolerate?

Yes, but that is "Slutty" Colorado snow. That state puts out like a cheap whore. Oregon snow is rare and virgin like.

| | Currently Listening Begin to Hope By Regina Spektor i never loved nobody fully... always one foot on the ground... see related |
so, niki now has a job as a nanny for a cute little 2 1/2 year old and sometimes his 3 month old sister. she has been to all of her classes twice now (save one lab that starts in half an hour) she likes all of them. she is taking contemporary slavery and human rights, hatred and group conflict, and the international system. they all meet on tuesday. she is in class for 9 hours between 9am and 9pm.
she's discovered that she likes denver quite a lot. she likes her roommate, all her new friends, and especially that her friends like to come for tea on an almost daily basis. she almost never has to drive anywhere and when she does, she enjoys getting hopelessly lost and finding her way home again. (what better way to learn a city?)
and now she most go talk about small states in the international system. thank goodness she got her reading done.
